Market Swing Indicator
The Market Swing % figures in the centre column of the main market screen indicate which way odds are being forced due to the pressure of money in the market for each selection. Pink figures mean the pressure is for odds to go higher and blue figures mean the pressure of money is forcing odds to go lower. With Refresh On selected these figures will change more rapidly as activity hots up just prior to an event 'going off''.
The higher the PINK figures the more imminent the change is likely to happen and odds to go longer.
The lower the BLUE figures the more imminent the change to shorter odds.
Take time at this stage to just watch the MS% figures alter and see how many times you have correctly predicted which way the odds are about to move. A little dry-running at this stage will stand you in good stead later on.
Learning to predict which way the odds are likely to move next is an essential skill needed in forming a successful hedge bet. A Hedge bet in a rising market (pink MS%) is where you place a lay bet first then a back bet when odds go higher. A hedge bet in a falling market (blue MS%) is where you place a back bet then a lay bet when odds go shorter.
This technique is covered in more depth in our Hedging section.
