Using ExPort

When you have launched ExPort you can log into your Betfair account by entering your details in the Username and Password boxes at the top left of the screen. (We cannot see your account information or any of your activity as you are now using ExPort to communicate directly with Betfair). Once your details are entered, click Login or press enter on your keyboard.

You will now see your Username confirmed and the balance in your account and the main menu will also populate. If you click on any event item on the menu the selected market will load in the main screen.

If, for example, you have chosen Horse Racing - Todays Card and then selected a race from the sub-menu you will see the horse names, odds and available amounts for each horse.

You will notice the market is split into two halves - Back (Blue) and Lay (Pink) with a grey column in the centre separating the two. This grey column holds the Market Swing % indicators that help predict whether there is pressure of money in the market to force the odds to go higher (pink figures) or lower (blue figures).

As a precaution the Confirm Bet box is always check-marked on loading to avoid accidental clicks on the main screen that might cause an 'un-intentional' bet.

The Back and Lay amount boxes default to £2 which is the Betfair minimum stake. Maximum Liability boxes (in the centre under main market screen for single bets and above the calculator for multiple bets) also load with default figures for your protection. All of these can be altered by you by clicking on or re-typing your chosen levels.

To see current odds, click to check-mark the white Refresh On box and select the refresh rate, from the drop down box, that you are happy with (500ms = 0.5 seconds). To load Back odds into the Dutching calculator, first click Dutching On. If Refresh On is also selected you will see all Stake and Profit calculations change as odds of your selections alter in the main market.

Transfer Funds

This allows you to move money from your UK Wallet (betting account) to your Australian Wallet in case you wish to bet on Australian events. Make sure you have completed Betfair’s KYC (http://kyc.betfair.com) before doing so.

Refresh Balances

Allows you to perform a manual refresh to ensure your balance is up to date.

Bet History

Allows you to query Matched bets (only just placed) ad Settled bets showing on your account.

Options Menu (next to Account)

Enable Info Popup

When enabled this allows you to hover over the name of a horse in UK races to see the colours of the jockey silks, its saddlecloth number and a wealth of other information. Click on the horse name to bring up its odds/time chart as usual. Re-select this link to turn the Info Popup off.

Bets Are Persistent

This function is switched on by default in Export but should only be used for In-Play events such as UK horse racing. When betting in other markets it is advisable to turn this function off or you may get a ‘Failed to place bet’ error telling you that you have an Invalid Persistence setting.

Simply click OK, go to the Options menu and click Bets are persistent to switch this function off. You will find if you re-attempt your bet, this will now work as expected.

If returning to betting in UK race markets after this, remember to switch the Bets Are Persistent function back on or any bets placed before the start of a race will be cancelled if unmatched at the time of the off.

API Call Statistics

This is where you can see how many calls per second are being made by Export to the Betfair Exchange servers for information. This should never exceed 20 calls per second which is the Betfair ‘free allowance’.

If you ever attempt to open more than one instance of Export logged in to the same Betfair account, your API call rate will certainly exceed the Betfair free API call allowance and you may be heavily billed by them or have your account suspended.

If you need an additional instance of Export, please contact admin@equinex.com or call the office on 01992 628688.

API Call Detail

This shows the different tyes of call being made to the exchange and at what rate.
